Cherry Jones is a famed American actress who has appeared in films, television shows, and theater productions.Her credits include the 1995 broadway revival of the play ‘The Heiress,’ the original production of ‘Doubt,’ Fox’s action-thriller TV drama series ‘24,’ and the famed drama web series ‘The Handmaid’s Tale.’ Jones, a Tennessee native, has wanted to be a part of the theater since she was a child.Cherry Jones took classes from a local city theater teacher after her parents encouraged her to do so, and she finally graduated from the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama. Jones is one of the most notable American stage performers of all time during her nearly four-decade career. In 1983, she made her cinematic debut in the TV movie ‘O’Malley.‘She made her big-screen debut four years later in the musical drama ‘Light of Day’ and has since appeared in films such as ‘The Horse Whisperer,’ ‘Erin Brockovich,’ ‘The Village,’ ‘Amelia,’ and ‘The Beaver,’ a film where she played the vice president. Cherry Jones has also received three Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Allison Taylor on FOX’s ‘24’ in 2009. On the ‘24’ Fox series, Cherry played president Taylor.
