He was an American Revolutionary War hero and Fort Stevens of New York was named after him. She was the youngest in the Jones family with two older siblings, Frederic Rhinelander Jones and Henry Edward Jones.When she was a toddler, the Jones family moved to Europe while visiting France, Italy, Germany, and Spain from 1866-1872.
